Purcell, OK is recognized as "The Quarterhorse Capital of the World" and its official motto is "The Heart of Oklahoma," and the city does have registered trademarks on both titles. Purcell is within the Great Plains region, and is located along the I-35 corridor in the central part of the state and overlooking the Canadian River valley. Purcell's downtown business district offers many historical buildings, such as Hotel Love, the McClain County Courthouse and the James C. Nance Memorial Bridge.
